They can be worn over socks or stockings or even bare feet. Because of the velcro wrap its size changes to whatever you need. Be careful, though, not to snag the stockings with the velcro. They are adjustable , Mine are for a woman and would fit any foot from 6 to 7 inches long (not size) probably ok for a child 10 or older. They are around 3 to 3.5 inched wide. I wear mine with the highest insert.
