I put about half a tablespoon in a jar of water for 24 hours, drained the water and left the seeds in the dark for 12 hours by which time they were developing roots then a few hours in good light until they go green and they are ready to eat. I actually got them to make sprouted seed teas for an indoor organic living soil garden and the quantity you get for the price is about the best I found. I have eaten some too as they do have numerous health benefits and they taste good so are obviously excellent to add to salads, sandwiches etc. Half a kilo of alfalfa seeds should last a long time but I shall be back for more of these when I eventually run out. Is it medicago sativa?** A: There is no species identified on the packet of seeds. **Q: Are these suitable for the 32 ounce sprouting jar?** A: Depends on amount of seeds you put in - I use the Vogel glass seed sprouters of which I don’t know the capacity, but they do look very similar size to the one you have.
