Would they take 10kg?** A: I would not be confident placing that amount of weight on these shelves. **Q: Would these hold the weight of a few large cooking books? Looking at it for our kitchen** A: Hi, I bought a set of these shelves for my bedroom. However, they only have a few lightweight ornaments on them. They are well made and I am very satisfied with them. I would suggest you fix them to a solid wall rather than a plaster board wall if the books are heavy. Hope this helps.
