## Questions & Answers

**Q: How to install**
A: I dug a shallow hole - 4-6" deep - the diameter of the anchor disk where I wanted the anchor the acted like a starter hole.
Used a crow bar (any stout rod, e.g. rebar) placed in yoke at the top of the anchor and just screwed the anchor into the ground.
Insert the included bolts into the yoke at the top of the anchor. Hand tighten for now.
The strap hook is hooked over the large " I beam" that runs the length of the mobile home, and wrapped "1" time around the beam, the strap itself is then threaded or inserted through the slit in the bolt you put in the anchor top yoke. Pull a couple inches of strap through the slit.
You may need to bend the end of the strap after you insert it in the bolt slit so it will not slip out when start tightening the strap.
You'll need a couple wrenches to tighten the strap by rotating the bolt so the strap winds around the bolt until tight.
I used a ratchet, and I had to insert/wedge the flat end of my crow bar under the strap so it was wedged tight between strap and the yoke.
B/c the strap will tend to want to unwind. Even with a ratchet, with out the wedge, every time I would reset the ratchet for another turn the strap would try to unwind, b/c being straight is the state it is natural.

**Q: What type of tool / drill adapter can I use to drill this into the ground?**
A: It would have to be something " T " shaped, where the top of the " T " or cross member spanned across the yoke where the bolt will go that attaches to the tie down strap. And the leg or long part of the " T " would be the part that goes into the drill chuck. I don't know of this except a weld-up custom piece. Should be easy to make.
I drilled mine in by hand with a small bar through the yoke holes. Went quick and easy.

**Q: What specific information regarding these parts, brand/model/and installation instruction, specs can you supply me with?**
A: I installed mine about 6 months ago. The Brand is just Mobile Home Parts, I think I read they build their own anchors; The model I am not sure is germane - 4" twin Disk Earth auger Anchor; The anchors bar/shaft is probably 3/4" dia. Like I stated, put mine in the ground and I am trying recall, The strapping is pretty heavy gauge but I don't know what gauge. Comes with good instructions.
Install for me: I dug a shallow hole (may be 6" deep) for the disk to set in, about like a post hole, jabbed the anchor/disk down into the hole and augured/rotated the anchor into full depth. I used a medium (18") sized pry bar slid through the top of the anchor (it's like a short piece of channel iron that forms the top for the bolt that the strapping passes through). The (mnf) recommend setting the anchor at a slight angle. The strapping is wrapped around the long "I" beams and strung through the slot in the bolt - the bolt is inserted into the channel iron piece described above - before you string the strap through it. You screw on a nut to the bolt and partly tighten it. Don't tighten completely until the strapping is tight. I used a ratchet on one end of the bolt and a box end wrench on the other. As you rotate the bolt the strap winds around the bolt and becomes tight.
I had some trouble getting the straps to start winding, the strapping is stiff enough it didn't want to wrap around the bolt and stay with the first few turns, so I used the flat end of the same pry bar/crow bar I augured in the anchors with, as a wedge stuck in the space between the strapping and the channel iron piece. Once I did that everything went smooth and all in all was a pretty easy install. Passed inspection, no questions.

**Q: Did you use a drill bit and what kind?**
A: No drill bit just anchor machine. Socket ratchet and hammer wrench to install bolts

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome & easy to use!
*by T***Y on February 25, 2025*

Used these to tie down a 40x8 shed in Arizona. It’s withstood our monsoon season and high winds. Easy to put on and very sturdy. Passed county inspection. Would buy again for other projects around the property. Easy to cut with metal shears to get the correct length and it comes long enough to not worry if you’re gonna cut off too much.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality Anchors | Easy to Use
*by J***E on August 3, 2023*

These anchors are great! I was impressed with how well they were made. I was able to drive the anchor in using a long metal bar to turn them. The racheting bolt method was easy to do. Just watch a video or two on YouTube and have the right ratchet and wrench sizing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Took some doing but I finally gott’er done!
*by N***W on December 14, 2023*

Great quality for the money!Where we live in TN the soil goes from dirt to rock then clay, so the overall process was a lot more difficult than I hoped. Using an auger and a post hole digger I dug the pilot holes. I started the anchors by placing them in the holes and added a few simple twists to keep them somewhat aligned. Then I used an angle drill with an adapter that I made to fit the saddle, to set the anchors as deep as the drill could handle, or until it stopped. Now comes the fun part (not)! The YouTube video shows a guy turning the anchors with a 2x4, with good results. Ha, not the case for me! I only got a couple full turns on the anchor before I knew this method wasn’t going to work for me! After several more attempts, using a large crescent wrench with an extension, a pipe wrench doing the same, and a chain wrench… with little success, I knew I was in for a more of struggle than I anticipated! Finally I grabbed a 6’ pry-bar, laid it in the saddle and was able to turn the anchors 1/2 a turn at a time. I continued this process until the angle of the anchor prevented the bar from staying in the saddle, unless I was crawling on my knees. I found this exhausting. After struggling with through, using that process, I got 4 of the 8 anchors in the ground to an acceptable level. So on the next 4 I repeated the above process until it got to the part of being on my knees to twist the anchors using the pry-bar.Using the bolt holes of the saddle, I inserted a couple bolts just above the pry-bar. This held the bar flat in the saddle and very low to the ground. Then I took a tow strap and slid it over the opposite end of the bar and… this abled me to continue twisting the anchors just by pulling the strap, and resetting the bar as needed to complete the process. Using this method, I did in minutes what it took me hours to do without it.Hope this helps someone!Good luck!!
