The mildew was significant before starting to clean the fabric. I put half the bottle in half a gallon of water and used a bristle brush. After rinsing I used the remain of the bottle in another half gallon of water, continuing to scrub the umbrella. The umbrella was rinsed off and remained open drying in the Florida sun. I have to say 95% or better of the Umbrella is perfectly clean.
