The plastic and zippers held up with no tears or holes. They have a large capacity and the plastic is thicker and more sturdier than a black trash bag. I did buy black contractor bags that are even larger and heavier duty than the bags and liked them as well. They had flaps but not handles.I elected to invest in these bags, since I thought they would come in handy on car and camping trips, when we put things in a bag and would like to see what is inside.
