## Description

The Babyface Pro has yet again perfectly illustrated RME’s longstanding commitment to high-end craftsmanship and design expertise, not just in audio circuitry and driver development, but also in mechanics. Manufactured with precision from a block of aluminium, this pro-grade, yet easily portable interface features newly designed analogue and digital circuitry. The incorporation of energy saving technologies provide unmatched fidelity with zero compromise in level, noise or distortion. The main I/O on the Babyface sports a completely newly designed XLR socket, which sits nicely on the rear panel of the chassis and saves space. The dual headphone outs offer both TRS and mini-jack sockets, each of these have their own independent driver stages to perfectly sync low and high impedance headphones, ensuring professional audio quality is delivered regardless of what type of headphone is utilised. Two digitally controlled preamps deliver individually switchable 48v Phantom Power. These newly designed circuits boast a gain range of 76dB, adjustable in 1dB increments, a relay-driven PAD, which delivers incredible EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance as well as line overload protection, and plenty of gain for even the lowest level microphones. The admirably efficient design of the Babyface Pro means that you’ll almost never have the need for an external power supply, it’s perfectly capable running on USB 3 bus power, aswell as most USB 2 ports, without any loss of performance or technical specification degradation. The software is a tad complicated and can be improved (for example, I’d like the ability to delete inactive items to simplify the visuals) but once you master its flexibility, you overlook the minor flaws. The Babyface Pro TS is the updated version of the original Babyface and you can tell that RME has sweated over the details. Now I understand why it and its larger siblings have taken the audio world by storm. Well done RME. An excellent product, highly recommended. If you are even semi-serious about high end audio, don’t bother with anything else.
Review: La mejor interfaz de audio portatil - Esta interfaz la compré por tres razones: La reputación de la marca, que me llevó a elegir este producto por encima de otros similares. Esta interfaz simplemente funciona y es de alta calidad, hay otras de Universal Audio que más o menos están en un rango de precio similar, con una cantidad de inputs similar, incluso un tamaño similar, pero dado que yo no requiero uso de plugins, preferí enfocarme en la calidad, robustez y profesionalismo que caracteriza a RME. La utilizo para conectar instrumentos y capturar la señal para usarla en el DAW o el software de mi interés, considerando que yo toco bajo y guitarra. Los datos técnicos del ADC de este producto hablan por sí solos, es un producto de grado profesional. También la utilizo para conectar dos micrófonos, y en ese sentido, basta echarle un vistazo a la hoja técnica o bien, investigar en internet, para saber que los pre amplificadores son de nivel profesional. Otros puntos positivos de este producto es que los drivers de RME son reconocidos y admirados, funcionan de maravilla en macOS y nunca me ha dado el más mínimo problema, y es el mismo caso en Windows. La construcción es de un pesado bloque de aluminio. No la considero nada bonita, pero sobra decir que se trata de un producto de la más alta durabilidad. El único punto negativo que podría comentar es que no tiene las mismas funciones DSP de otras interfaces de RME, solamente posee un ecualizador de tres bandas muy simple, pero no tiene un limitador o un compresor, sólo por poner ejemplos. Dependiendo del caso de uso esto puede ser útil o inconveniente. En general este producto es altamente recomendable, sólo que ya tiene unos años en el mercado y creo que la competencia está avanzando para dejarlo obsoleto, seguramente será necesario que el Babyface tenga una renovación tarde o temprano. De mi parte estoy ahorrando para comprar otra interface RME que tenga más inputs y sobre todo puerto MADI.

Have used several DA/AD converters of all types (ARC, THX, Rode, Shure, etc.) all bought from Amazon. All adequate and similar in performance as one would expect, in a very competitive field. Then I tried the Babyface: Mein Got, ausgezeichnet (which translates to “Wow” I think). It leaves all the aforementioned in the dust. Built like a brick outhouse, outstanding clarity, excellent dynamic range, ultra-low distortion, etc. Everything one can ask for. The software is a tad complicated and can be improved (for example, I’d like the ability to delete inactive items to simplify the visuals) but once you master its flexibility, you overlook the minor flaws. The Babyface Pro TS is the updated version of the original Babyface and you can tell that RME has sweated over the details. Now I understand why it and its larger siblings have taken the audio world by storm. Well done RME. An excellent product, highly recommended. If you are even semi-serious about high end audio, don’t bother with anything else.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely the best Audio Interface I could ever ask for

I got this interface so that I could have my XLR microphone and my audiophile grade headphones all plugged in on one device so that I could cut down on clutter, and it absolutely fills that role. I was originally put off by the price, considering I had an Audient ID14MK2 which was already 95% of what I needed for a smidge over 3x less. However, this audio interface is so much more worth it. There are so many things you can do with this interface that I would never need, but I am so happy that I can do them. EQ was one of the things I couldnt do before and am tremendously excited that is now a possibility, thats both on the headphone end and on the microphone end. I have always EQ'd my headphones, so this was super nice to have EQ for both my input and output with just one software. Also, the onboard controls are honestly so nice to have with the interface. One of the big selling points for me is that there is pretty much a way to do everything that you can do with the software, on the device itself. The small catch is that it can be a little tricky to remember or learn the controls, but there is an entire 200 page manual sent with the device that contains the answer to literally any question you could possibly have about the device. I sometimes feel like it was an unnecessary purchase or maybe it was a bit too overkill but I wouldn't have it any other way and Im confident that I wont need another audio interface or any other audio device for decades to come.
