Review: Worth every penny - God is good! These guppies are gorgeous. I watch my fish like some people watch TV. I've never seen such a variety before. Every color of the rainbow. I asked for 15 males and 10 females and that's what I got. Every guppy arrived alive. I've learned the hard way that most fish come with one disease or illness, so I always have ich-x, melafix, marracyn, aquarium salt, quick start (bacteria addition) and stress reducer (slime coat adder) on hand. Never add the water the fish come with to the tank. Mix the fish water with your primed tank water and let them acclimate that way. Then take some of your tank water and add 2 packets of marracyn, 1ml of stress coat, 1ml of ich-x, 1ml of quick start and 1 tablespoon of salt. Stir until the salt is dissolved. Then use a net and transfer the fish to the medicated bowl. Let them sit for 5 minutes in the medicated bowl and discard the container with the water the fish came with. After the 5 minutes, add another tablespoon of salt, 1ml of ich X and 1ml of melafix and let the fish soak for 5 more minutes. During this time, remove the carbon filter from the tank. You should always have a sponge filter in a new tank so they can remain in medication for 4-8 weeks and still be fed and love in cycled water without having to use a carbon filter. Once the fish are done soaking for the full 10 minute they are ready to be dumped with the medicated water into their new tank. I always put new fish in a 10g tank so I don't have to medicate a 30+g tank. Once the fish are in the 10g tank add 5ml of melafix, 5ml of ich-x and 5ml of bacteria starter. The fish should remain in that medication for 2 weeks minimum without a water change. You will not need to add any more medication if you do it this way. Ich X and melafix and marracyn are fine with scaleless and sensitive freshwater fish. I did a lot of trial and error with other fish medications like pimafix or other ich remedies that I later regretted due to fish death. I've only had good experiences with the medications I now use on all new fish or sick fish. The guppies did come with fin nip and mild fin rot. I don't see any ich. But most fish you get are going to come with something which is why you need to put them in a medicated tank for 2-8 weeks because planted tanks don't do well with salt and some of the meds. Lastly, put in another tablespoon of salt into the 10g tank each day for 1 week. If you add to much salt at once you will kill the fish. But 1 tablespoon a day for 7 days is fine. I love the variety of guppies and I'm so thankful God gave me eyes and desertcart and this fish seller to add to my joy in this life. I love watching the male guppies flirting with the female guppies. Don't mind the dannios in my pictures, they are not from these sellers but I have them with my guppies. You can also see the blue tint of the water. Medicated tanks should never be tinted any bluer than that bowl. You can see that the got tank doesn't even look like it has medicine in it. YouTube videos on new fish are your friend. So many amazing ideas. I like that my medication routine doesn't dirty the water like some medications do and it doesn't kill fish. Have fun enjoying these fish. Such a great deal. And they shipped in 1 day and were here the next. I was shocked when they arrived 2 days later. I figured it would take a week.
Review: 4/25. Sick fish!!! - Hello all. I, like you, was in the market for some guppies to add to my community tank(pic. included). After looking around, this seemed like the best deal, although with mixed reviews, so here we go. Let's start with the good. Shipping was fast, and the fish arrived in clean water, considering the travel. One mama even gave birth while in transport! I've never had fry before, but knowing that guppies are live bearers, I had a breeding box on hand, and I planned on putting them in my 20gal before transferring to the 75gal to make sure no one had ick, fin rot, etc. 2Guppies were dead on arrival. That is to be expected, and I did NOT consider it a loss since I had the fry. Cool. I floated the bag for 30min. Placed these little guys (S.I.P) into my awaiting medicated tank and hoped for the best. That night I had 4more deaths (pic included). I counted myself lucky! I knew better than to place them into my main tank. Obviously, something is wrong with them. I decided I had to keep a close eye on them to see if I could see any abnormal behavior so I could treat my fish better. I keep an arsenal of medication at all times,it's the mom in me! Whether it's my kid or my fish, I'll try my best. I noticed while stalking my tank a beautiful fish, pale with an orange streak, was moving erratically, within seconds he was gone😢. I am a naturally anxious person and now my pets are dying left and right!! Cleaned him out, scanned to see if any more bodies were to be found, put some food in, went to bed and hoped for the best. That morning, 4more little guys joined the tank in the sky. Fished them out and went to work. I came home that evening to find my tank cloudy and murky with hard visibility. Opened my lid and my water smelled foul. Bodies. Out of my remaining 14 fish. 10 were dead. Scooped them out and did a water change while fighting tears and racking my brain..i do not bring animals into my home and care with the intention of them dying. I remedicated my tank. They are not just fish, they are my beloved pets they just so happen to be a little wet! I thought the worst was over but no…early morning 2more fish died. Out of the original 25 only 2 fish survived and the other 2 are the fry that came in the bag. I just moved them into my community tank. Hence the late review, I wanted to have a clear report.Fry are still in breeder box to prevent my angel fish from having a snack. I understand that keeping and transporting fish is a difficult job, but save yourself the loss and heartache and just go to your local fish store. I am very anal when it comes to my tanks, I check my parameters, weekly, my fish eat varied diet, and monthly water changes. I also nourish my plants since all my tanks are live. I am meticulous with my fishy loves qand unfortunately made a bad call with this purchase. I am going to contact seller. Let's see what happens, will update.
