I had this door installed by a contractor experienced in this work and I had no trouble. This is not a DIY job for most people.The door functions well and looks good. I’m very pleased and my dogs are getting the idea they can get in and out themselves.I waited a while before buying because the only earlier review gave just one star. This is a very good product as long as you know what you are doing or hire someone who does.UPDATE:  Now that I have had this for a while, I can say that this door has been trouble free.

The door and window are nice. I don’t find that the pet flap closes as well as it should so cold comes in. I’m going to try to add a second flap and more magnets. Also the pet door is about 7 inches from the bottom of the door, not 3 as advertised.

Heavy well made. Venetian shade works nicely. Doggy door is a bit too high off from bottom of door.  Bianca has trouble getting thru there whereas in her old door it was never a problem
