Q: Has anyone experienced their acne getting worse before it got better?

I haven't had to deal with true "acne", but use this regularly for little breakouts/bumps due to hormonal changes and food allergy responses. Always clears up very quickly. Can even put on when "bump" is just noticed and not active yet....will stop progression of breakout. I really like this product.

Q: Does it remove dark spots like sunburn and pigmentation?

It does not remove dark spots. Great for breakouts but doesn't have any effect on pigment.

Q: Does one apply this on specific acne spots or as a mask. Lastly How long does one leave the cream on for

It says for spot treatment but if you have an area with lots of acne (like me) it's fine to spread it around. I apply it after showering and just leave it until next day's shower. It doesn't dry out your skin.
