This is high quality boat hardware. Works smoothly and should last a long time. I have 6 of these with bicycles. 4 are stacked on 16 inch centers and you do have to fiddle slightly to avoid tangling the bikes with a bit of sway due to the one point connection. No big deal. I like the way it supports using webbing on wheels with metal clasps. It is easy to install and use. I placed this hoist system over my car, so I considered any way it might fail. I decided that if the spring failed, the bicycle would repel to the ground (or the hood of my car). The directions suggest tying the loose end of the rope to a cleat placed on a wall, but that is not necessary. Just tie the loose end to the bicycle frame.
