They have a rubber sole, so they can make an occasional trip out to the driveway, etc. The grey is a pretty silver with a slight lavender tint if you care about such things (and you probably do if you're buying slippers with a maribou poof on them). The only thing is....they make my feet sweat. I'm not a person who is prone to sweaty feet so it's a weird feeling. These slippers will make your feet sweat even if it's cold! Feeling my feet get all sweaty while doing such strenuous activities as folding laundry or reading a book is kinda unpleasant. I've tried them with and without socks, with different types of socks and it doesn't matter. Within 10 mins my toes are swampy. I guess they're constructed with materials that don't breathe. The pink color is really pretty and compliments my pink satin peacock robe. They are very soft and comfortable. I wear a size 7.5 and the 7/8 fit me perfectly. If you are an 8 these may or may not fit so you would probably be better off going with the larger size. They do make my feet hot, but I only wear them to shuffle around the house or go outside on the concrete. I take them off when I sit down. I've had them for a few days and they haven't fallen apart yet. I think they are made pretty well to not fall apart right away.
