The two things to keep in mind when buying these strings are: 1.) String diameters relative to your old strings. Forcing larger strings into a filed bone nut can damage the nut and make a nasty buzz on the first fret. 2.) Actual tension. This can be referenced with some footwork on Savarez's website or on other websites. Base a relative comparison on your current set of strings. Going up or down in tension may require an adjustment on your truss rod if you have one. If you don't have a truss rod (like most Yamaha Classical Guitar or high end luthier made guitars) you will have to get a bridge/but adjustment. --In Short: Savarez are the best Classical strigns on the market. Period. Buy a set of normal tension Savarez 520R and try it out. If you don't like it, buy lower or higher tension. High tension Savarez Alliance 540J strings are imensely popular as they have comparable tension to many standard tension of other varieties. **Q: Why does this ad say "accordion accessory"?** A: Hm!.. Because truth in advertisement is a myth? :) Honestly, no clue. It's not merely a 20% or 30% improvement or whatever, but rather completely transforms the instrument from being mediocre to truly being musical, with so much more room for expression, dynamic range, subtle but distinct variation in tone, etc. If you don't care about dynamic range or tone control and are fine with all your notes sounding the same regardless of whether you play closer to the bridge vs the neck or with different finger attack angles, etc. then by all means use other strings; otherwise these are the hands-down winner, and nothing else comes close - except for maybe the high-tension version of these.
