Based on cost, I decided to build my own once I found this spindle hub set. Couldn’t come close to the cost savings by doing my own axle with this set. Yes there is welding required but any decent mig welder can do the job. Just measure and true the spindles, tack the spindle on opposite sides. Then recheck and confirm that the spindle is true and square before you go to town welding. Weld a bit side to side but don’t over heat the spindle. Once done welding, cleaning, and painting, the hub assembly is straight forward. Grease pack the bearings. Grease the rear hub area, set in the bearing, and the seat the rear dust cap. I recommend using a press to evenly seat the rear dust cap. Seating the rear dust cap by hand can work too but might dent the cap. The cap isn’t real thick. Slide the hub on, greased bearing, washer, tighten nut, insert cotter pin, and the put on exterior dust cap. Done! It’s that simple and it’s an affordable option when a custom axle assembly is needed.
