It's either 1.5" or 2". It's helpful to know so we can buy correct base. The answer of 5" doesn't make sense.** A: The diameter is 1.48” I see that in another question someone answered 5”, but they seem to mean the whole circle dimension (which is not needed for the base). So the diameter is 1.48” (just measured) **Q: What type of base would i need to purchase for this to sit by itself? (Not inside a table)** A: I use a metal base stand for this type of umbrella.
