It's progressive, though, and I'm now having to wear compression stockings daily to prevent swelling and stasis ulcers. I've been prescribed custom-made knee highs, but this brand was recommended to me by my local med supply as a good "backup" pair due to my measurements (I'm tall). I'm blown away by how comfortable these are! The quality is excellent and the fit is as close to perfect as one can get without going for custom made compression socks. I use a "sock butler" aid Mediven Big Butler, for Larger Sizes, MDV90000 to get into my non-zipper socks, and these go on very easily using it. I can usually get them on in less than 10 minutes. They stay up, don't bind at the top, and the toe area is purposely loose-fitting. As long as you get the heel in the right place, you shouldn't have any problems with tight toes. A note about fit: if you are short, be very careful, as these do run a bit long. You would probably do much better ordering the "short" length. I'm 5'8" tall, and I have to be careful getting them on not to stretch them too much going up or I'll end up with excess sock at the top, not a good thing as it then binds around my knee.
