This tube has an octal base; many of the original magic eye tubes in US antique radios had a 6 pin base, so the base/wiring harness going to the tube had to be reworked. I had done my research and was aware of that prior to getting this tube. The tube works great; nice and bright! If anything, it has a bit more gain than the original tube, as the tuning pattern will overlap a bit on very strong stations. A couple of resistors as a voltage divider were added under the radio chassis to scale the signal down, and it works just as it should.
