I've assembled countless items of furniture over the years, and the most common problem is the assembly instructions - either a lack of instructions, or inadequate instructions, or instructions that have been translated and have become almost meaningless. This glider included instructions that were "wordy" with very limited illustrations. The illustrations that were there were photocopied poorly and details were almost blacked out. No indicators existed to show "front and back" or 'top and bottom" of the pieces, so one of the tasks that I had completed had to be taken apart and put back together. The glider is heavy and will accommodate those big guys who come visiting on holiday family gatherings. It glides nicely - the appearance is as shown in the picture. Real problems are the assembly...by the time I was finished, I was so darn irritated that I hated the bench to pieces. Had to take a few days to get over it. At least it's not a piece of junky workmanship!!! It IS well built...but why on earth do these manufacturers keep cutting corners in their assembly instructions!!! What would the cost be to them to have the explanations written by a person who CAN write and who has an understanding of the English language!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Painting the unfinished version *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2018* We ordered the unfinished version and I thought it might be helpful to share our project experience. First of all the product arrived slightly ahead of the estimated delivery date. It was complete and undamaged on arrival. You can see the result of our work in the pic. Here is what it took to achieve the result. The first thing that we did was to apply two coats of an Exterior Semi Gloss Paint & Primer to the individual pieces prior to assembly. You will need a little bit of space to di that. Avoid having too much paint on the brush and after drying inspect for drips or runs and remove with a single edged razor and sandpaper. Assembly was pretty straightforward. Read the instructions and follow them word for word, particularly with the part where you are connecting the bench to the base with the glider arms. I did it wrong at first because I thought I knew what I was doing but then went back and carefully read the instructions and it cleared up my little mistakes. It works perfectly and is very solid. Assembly took about an hour and it helps to have a buddy but not required. We finished the project by applying putty to all of the screw holes and then after sanding smooth (the putty) we applied a topcoat of paint.
