Shoowa Design: African Textiles from the Kingdom of Kuba Paperback – December 30, 1999

A friend of mine has this book, and I fell in love with it. The photography is wonderful, and the book makes you feel like you have visited a museum. I recommend highly to someone who likes tribal art. Unfortunately the price I paid for a used copy was 50% more than the original published price. I guess it is out of print.

I've just gotten interested in these artefacts and really wanted to find out more about them. There is - and if you're reading this you'll know it - very little available research on these enigmatic, enthralling pieces so this book - while very expensive now - gave me a world of information about these cloths, at time it gave me goose-bumps reading it. This is a one of a kind book and if you're a Shoowa cloth enthusiast you want to buy it. Brilliant.
