Meets Finnish Sauna Standards
I purchased this Sauna as a birthday gift to my wife. We ordered it through Britt & Jules and they worked with me and Almost Heaven Saunas to get is shipped in 1 week for her birthday. She is originally from Finland and in Finland most homes and many apartments have Saunas. We had been considering building a sauna ourselves from raw materials in an empty room in our basement, but it always posed a major project with many pitfalls. So the decision to buy this Sauna kit was a good one and overdue in our home.My father-in-law from Finland was in town and did most of the assembly and electrical work. He is an electrician by trade and has installed many sauna heaters in his life. It took only a day to assemble. We put the sauna on a concrete floor since we'll likely use it as more of a wet sauna than dry and expect condensation to drip on the floor. I was worried about the venting since Finnish wet sauna typically have vents to outdoors and drains inside the sauna for showering and cleaning the sauna- but so far it hasn't been a problem. We don't shower in it obviously, but do get it pretty steamy. We assembled raised wooden tiles on the inside floor- much like duckboard just for looks. What has impressed me about the Sauna is how easy it was to assemble, the quality of the material, and that is feels larger than I expected. There is plenty of room inside and reminds me of the bench size on some Saunas I've used in Finland. My father-in-law commented that the quality of materials was very good even compared to Finnish saunas he has constructed from raw materials. And his take after trying it was that it lived up to the expectations of a long-time Finnish sauna user. I was worried that it would not have an authentic sauna feel for someone who has grown up with a sauna room and wood-burning stove, but happily that is not the case. The Sauna comes to temperature in about 30 minutes. Though we throw water on the Sauna rocks, so far the condensation hasn't been a major issue. I've wiped up water from the concrete after a few uses where the heater cooled and collected the humidity, and unfortunately putting the floor tiles in has limited my ability to do that. I may put some kind of pan beneath the heater to further help with that. I believe its just condensation on the metal. After we received the Sauna we got a surprise gift from Almost Heaven Saunas- a bucket, ladle and temp/humidity gauge all from Finland. As far as complaints, I have very few. The screws included with the Sauna were a bit soft and 1 broke on us, so we chose to pick up some from the hardware store instead. The included heater, a Harvia KIP 60 is plenty hot for the size of the room, and includes a nice timer feature that can allow you to set the Sauna to heat some hours in the future. Unfortunately, it only has a 1 hour running time timer, so after heating for 30 minutes or so you generally need to reset the time back to the hour mark. Some Finnish models have a 2 or 3 hour running time since its not uncommon to have multiple users and multiple visits. Its just a minor inconvenience to reset the timer on the heater. I've noticed that our thermometer shows a peak temperature of about 60C and we've not seen it get higher, though it has felt warmer at times. I believe the marketing materials suggest it can exceed 85C so we may need to experiment with a longer warming time to reach that temperature or we could have a flawed thermometer. Finally, when you first fire it up you may notice some smell as the heater runs for the first time. My Father-in-law expected that and so we weren't concerned, but I could see where it might alarm someone. He also recommended wiping down all the wood inside before running it to remove the dust, and we also rinsed the sauna rocks before installing them in the heater. I've now used it 6 times and have not been the least bit disappointed.

Wonderful sauna!
We bought this sauna from Almost Heaven a few weeks ago. Shipping was fast and the pallet arrived in perfect condition. Assembly took most of the day, but my husband and I were able to do it ourselves, even carrying down the heavier pieces to the downstairs installation location. Our advice is to make sure to read the directions multiple times during the process! We opted for the $20 upgrade so the light has an interior switch, which is great. Sauna heats up in about an hour and we've been ending each day with super relaxing sauna sessions. We'd been looking at saunas for a few years and are so glad we went with a traditional sauna. Almost Heaven called a few days after we received the sauna to check on how it was working, which was a nice touch. We would definitely buy another sauna from them.
