Although I came across the same issue, I had no problem mixing it throughly with a handheld frother. The consistency is most similar to protein power so it needs more than a spoon to stir. The foam eventually went down and there were no issues as I use this as a topper/mixer with kibble. The smell is pretty strong, but smells like turkey none the less.
