GSI has always had some of the more reliable gear and this product is no different. The cup itself is made out of polypropelene which doesn't leach in either direction and is bpa free and safe! After having used it several time, going back and forth from boiling hot coffee to iced cold water, I can tell you that the coffee taste does not leach into the cup! **Q: Is there a replacement oring or seal for this?** A: Just buy a new one if you’ve wore it out. **Q: How can I wash the outside sleeve?** A: You could hand wash with mild soap or put through washer with cold water but I would not recommend putting it in the dryer.
