Sturdy plastic and the air holes are properly cut with no loose plastic anywhere. Smooth finish. No chemical smell. I immediately transferred my orchid from a ceramic pot to this one. Watering my orchid is so much easier now since I can put this pot in a plastic planter, fill water, let it soak and then lift up the pot to drain. I am even leaving an inch of water at the bottom of the planter and sitting the orchid pot on the water.
