VOYAUX 24V 500MA TRANSFORMER, AC POWER SUPPLY COMPATIBLE WITH THERMOSTAT FOR NEST ECOBEE, SENSI AND HONEYWELL AND DOORBELLS REQUIRE 24 VOLT POWER Specification ● Adapter size: 8cm x 7.5cm x 5cm ● Input: 240V AC 50Hz 0.2A ● Output: 24V AC 500mA ● Cable length: 800 cm ( 315 inch) How to use? FOR THERMOSTATS 1. Shut off the circuit breaker power supply. 2. Install any wire from the 24 volt adapter to the "C" end and another wire to the "RC" end. If your system has a cooling system, you may need to use the included diode and connect the “RH” to the 'RC’ terminal. 3. Plug the power adapter into the socket. 4. Open the circuit breaker power supply. 5. Install the panel on the thermostat FOR DOORBELLS 1. Keep adapter unplugged. 2. Install wires from 24 volt adapter into the terminals for your doorbell unit (any wire can be connected to any terminal). 3. Plug adapter into outlet. 4. Put doorbell face plate on housing unit. 5. Power up and verify your doorbell is receiving necessary power using the accompanying application.

May need an in-line resistor to work
It includes a diode to fit if using an existing external chime from a previous doorbell set up.However it makes no mention of the need for a 50 watt 25 ohm resistor to be fitted in line to one of the power supply lines to the first series Ring doorbell to make it work, if this is a 'new fit' and doesn't use any existing doorbell stuff (why would you). Luckily it is highlighted on the Ring help pages.Perhaps an addition to the sales blurb might help those like myself that want to fit a permanent supply to the early versions, of the need to check if the resistor is needed.

Not value for money as don't work
As an electrician, I plugged this in and thought at first something wrong when the outer case got warm this was within 2 minutes of plugging it in. I put my volt tester across the wires and nothing, took the case off and test the voltage across the pins input side of transformer 240v, went to the output side nothing. I have asked for money back on this product and gone to ring direct to buy one at least it will work and I know is safe.

Works flawlessly with my new Ring Video doorbell
I’ve got to admit I was a bit dubious about whether this would work or not, or whether it would cause problems with my Ring doorbell but I am glad to say it works absolutely perfectly.I tested it before I went to the effort of pinning it to the wall to keep it neat and tidy, and because I didn’t unwind all the wire the Ring doorbell did show a warning of too much power going to the doorbell which made me worry, but as soon as I unwound the whole 8metres the warning disappeared and I’ve not had any issues since. I’ve had it wired in for a week now and it works great. The 8metre length of cable was just what I needed to reach the closest plug sock which is why I choose this one over the ring one.The plug does get a little warm but not hot and definitely feels safe to use or I would have taken it out already having two young kids running around my house.Wiring it in was extremely easy and it doesn’t matter which wire goes to either terminal on the doorbell so another thing less to worry about.Overall very chuffed with the plug and play set up and at almost half the price (on offer) of the official Ring one it’s an absolute steal!

Works with Ring 2 Doorbell
Used this to hardwire a Ring 2 doorbell. The package cam with a component which was unidentifiable as a resistor or a diode. The markings were unclear so I stayed clear of using it. The online forums are unclear about whether an inline resistance is needed or not. I will update the review if there is any problemUpdate: After a couple of days battery has now recharged to full charge. Going to add the resistor in series as shown in the o tire as this is recommended by Ring to reduce any current spikes. Transformer is warm to touch but not hot.

Doing its Job
This 24Volt Transformer, Power supply which is compatible with the Ring door bell is a little bit disappointing when it comes to its thickness. The wires when skinned are quite fragile. It has disconnected once and had to get it done again by having to remove and rewire the doorbell. Which now days is a bit of a task considering that normally this never happens. Especially when the wiring is done. It did not have any waste packaging and is a bit high priced for the quality. It was easy to install. Now that I have rewired it lets hope it stays on. Otherwise a good product. Came with all the bits to fit it. Easy to handle. Works well when the wires remain connected.

Why pay more for Ring’s own transformer?
Bought this for a Ring Doorbell Pro. Was ever so slightly concerned that the more expensive Ring plug-in transformer delivered an 800mA current (and 20VA power) but this was only 500mA (and 12VA power). However, it works perfectly.Could not have been easier to install. I had asked the builder to run a low voltage wire from the front door to the under-stairs cupboard and it’s accompanying wall socket. Spliced the transformer‘a wires to the builder’s wires under the stairs and then connected the other end of the wire to the Ring Doorbell. Instant success.

Works on my ring doorbell 4
Charged and now retains my ring 4 doorbell at 100% power. Ring do advise you to charge the battery via usb before use, as the transformer just trickle charges. However, I didn’t bother and the bell slowly made its way to 100% anyway. The transformer gets warm but not hot and it doesn’t buzz like I thought it would (common with AC adaptors and it’s not a fault). Can’t fault it as of yet but I’ll update if anything happens to it!

Does exactly what it should for a "Ring wired doorbell".
It does exactly what it should.I used this to connect my new "Wired Ring Doorbell" and it was easy to install and works perfectly. The wire was lovely and long (8 metres) and easily reached from my front door to my plug socket when tucked away neatly along skirtings and door frames. The bare ends of the adapter connected to my Wired Ring Doorbell quickly and easily and it all worked as expected first time. There is a diode in the box on arrival but that is not needed for the Ring doorbell (it is there for using with other devices if you need it).Great quality product at a brilliant price.
