This knife is used only for carving meat so the sheath is good for protecting blade and putting a very small edge on the blade to maintain efficiency. Good value for money, very pleased.

**Q: can you put the knife in the sharpener the wrong way and get it jammed.**
A: It is possible to put the knife wrong way, but is does not get stuck- it can be removed easily, although we do not recommend it. The build in sharpener will sharpen the knife every time it will be put in it the correct way.

**Q: Can this go in the dishwasher?**
A: Hi, ideally knives should never go in the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergent is very abrasive, and along with the banging around that happens during a wash cycle, will take the sharp edge right off your knife and you should always wash knives by hand.

Self sharpening is the way to go I have had a couple of these knives and they have been great they are getting a little old now and still as sharp as the first time I used them I thought it was time to add another to the collection. I like the lock as well means that they do not come out of the sheath while in the draw and therefore protects the blade.
