Product description The durable gait belt with handles is strong enough to handle bariatric patients. The transfer Belt allows you to easily ambulate patients. The quick release latch makes it easy to put on and remove the belt. Keep the belt securely in place to create a strong hold for added safety. The belt is manufactured from durable strong nylon webbing for a soft feel, yet is incredibly strong. Two horizontal and 4 vertical handles allow access to the patient from both sides and angle. Each handle is reinforced with cross-stitching at every attachment point for a secure comfortable grip. Can be hand washed and air dried. It’s not just for the elderly. While recovering at home or in the hospital from a procedure, a patient is unable to walk unassisted and is directed to walk, ambulate, several times a day. Gait belts, otherwise known as transfer belts, facilitate this in two ways. First, it gives the caregiver a way to focus their attention to securely assist and leverage the weight of the patient thereby protecting the attendant from injury. Now I keep my 'BRMDT handled-transfer-belt' within my reach to assist whomever in picking me up, awesome! Doctor office assistants are always delighted when I quickly put it on, to assist them in lifting me (98lbs) from my wheelchair up onto the exam table and off again. At home when I fall, I press my emergency-response-button, and the EMS arrive and are now amazed that I'm awaiting their arrival already with 6 grab-handles strapped around my waist. Now I feel I'm less of a burden, plus it lessens people touching me personally, and it certainly better protects their backs from injury while lifting me. It does take some adjusting to best fit and serve your needs, but after once or twice it is so very helpful and people always want to know where I got it, so I point to the "BRMDT" which is embroidered on it. My 81 yr old mother prefers it for helping getting me in and out of her car, on the rare occasion we go out to eat (I bought a lightweight 18lb wheelchair too, which she is greatful for...anything I can do to be less of a burden).

This belt is worth every penny. Getting my dad in and out of the shower not only makes him feel secure, but I am at ease knowing I have a good grip no matter which way he turns. The multiple handles give you a grip all around.
