Now the tailgate lowers at a desirable, controlled pace which is a great advantage to this senior citizen ! Β Im always worried my young kids will pull the gate latch, and have it drop on them... these older tailgates have some weight! Plus I prefer the newer trucks with their assist letting the gate drop soft. For the price of this I figured I'd try it. Anymore I expect lousy instructions from overseas, and basically have to figure it out or search YouTube. Surprisingly, these were very helpful and clear. Even explain some reasons for "why". The hardware has yet to be long term tested, but so far no issues on my 2004 ram 2500. Plus it's about 20 degrees right now... my OEM hood struts are not holding ro well right now. This doesn't seem to help much with lifting, but that's not a big deal for me.
