It does assist with keeping them away from canisters and away from areas that they are attracted to. However, it is described that it can kill flies up to 4 weeks after an area is treated but I am not yet sure that is true. It has taken direct sprays to kill flies and even then they have flown away with light mists. I do think it is effective as a barrier treatment and does kill flies but is not as strong as I expected.
