For example, we don't need pages and pages on how its such a good idea to do epidemiological studies on MG, but no info on any such studies done to date. That's even when it mentions MG at all, rather than unrelated companies or just rambling. Authors little rules he's learned for himself I'm sure helped him, but his list has little use for others like 3) Stay positive. For those who prefer facts to such inspirational reminders, this book falls short to say the least. When he does finally get around to discussing nitty gritty of MG, there too it is lacking in specificity and detail. For example, he says sometimes an EMG is ordered to diagnose MG, and all he says is that the results will show "weak muscles" compared to normal individuals. He does not even include the detail that what one will see that implicates MG is the decrement in muscle activity that comes between the first time stimulated (normal or near normal) and subsequent electrical stimulations. Ditto on the chapter I thought would finally get to some MG info - on the vaccine research. There's a whole chapter yet no specifics at all on what the vaccine actually targets or how it works. All of this is especially surprising given he holds an advanced medical degree; Iv'e seen more medical know-how from journalists. Add to all of that how old this book is and it really does not provide any usable info. I thought this book was written only 3 or 4 years ago based on amazons listing of publication date and only later saw its more than a decade older than this. The best parts are the few sentence beginnings of how the 4 different people got the illnesses- but that doesn't redeem the rest - i can summarize that pretty much here. e.g. one women diagnosed as a teenager in retrospect had it at age 4 based on photos or herself; one guy got symptoms following a bad GI virus and run down body, and the author first misdiagnosed himself as having ALS after trying to ignore his symptoms for over a year. That's it. I got this for someone else before reading it myself and now am sorry I gave the person such a useless book. ### ⭐ Easy to live with MG -- If only *by C***H on Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2019* As a recently diagnosed MG patient, I was looking forward to this book. And it disappointed. While it has decent background on MG and what it is you can find that for free on the internet. The author's description as well as the e of the other cases highlighted in the book explain how easy it is to manage MG. It was easier for the author/doctor, another doctor, and a pastor at a mega--church. You know people with lots of money to have personal trainers to come, who run their own businesses, who have lots of staff to pick up their work for them. You know, people not like any of the MG people I have met! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good instructional book *by A***T on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2019* I read this book because it was a disease which doctors had been watching me for. After reading it I ruled this disease out as the cause of my problems.
