Ampersand Art Supply's Museum Series Claybord is made from our premium warp-resistant 3/4" cradled profile FSC-Certified Hardbord™ that is sealed and protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal™ and coated with an ultra-smooth, highly absorbent acid-free kaolin clay ground that is perfect for mixed media.The surface is sanded to an ULTRA-smooth, highly absorbent finish so your paint colors remain true and brilliant. The unique clay surface allows for unlimited techniques – etching, erasing, reworking, adding color and scratching it away to add contrast, texture, and fine details. Claybord is perfect for many fine art uses including pigmented and alcohol inks, gouache, egg tempera, acrylic, airbrush, graphite, pencil, pen, watercolor, casein, collage, scratchboard and mixed media. Your final artwork on Claybord can even be sealed and displayed without glass. Only Ampersand builds cradles by hand with premium-grade, 13-ply birch plywood for maximum stability and a clean, finished look from edge to edge. Choose from 1/8", 1 1/2" and 2" deep cradles, offering support and presentation all-in-one. All Ampersand Museum Series panels are eco-friendly, formaldehyde-free, and proudly handcrafted in the USA.
