While I enjoy the added security of real snow tires in winter, I've always worried that a tire would go flat and no one would notice. You can drive on flat runflats up to a certain speed for a certain number of miles but if you don't know they are flat and drive normally indefinitely they will disintegrate on you. These fit the bill perfectly. I had a different brand and they seemed to be damaged easily and cause slow leaks. These went through a full winter without damage or loss of air pressure. Since you cannot see these caps while driving, you have no idea if you lost pressure since last starting out. Most tires go flat by slow leaks over time, so if you look at each cap before setting out you are protected from the vast majority of flats. If you do not have runflats, of course you will know if you get a flat right away, but short of that these will tell you if you are low, which is bad for gas millage and tire wear. Runflats or not, these caps were by far better than the others I tried.
