I sew and considered making one, but after examining online patterns I knew this is an item best left to the pros (not to mention materials, time, and a curse-laden learning curve). The construction strength is top-notch and the materials are excellent quality. Putting on a corset requires a degree of man-handling to cinch it up, and this feminine-looking garment hides its tough side very well.My first and most impressive benefit of this corset is the incredible back support. If you're top-heavy and experience lower back pain, this is likely to help alleviate some of that too.One thing about a corset is that when worn with a bra, it appears I'm wearing a bionic pushup. I'm a DDD and already wear a minimizer, so now I'm wearing tops that help tame the girls when it's appropriate. I've been wearing it as instructed, and after about a week I've already measured a 1/2-inch smaller - this makes me a believer in waist training. I've had four kids, and at almost 50, I find that for some reason my rib cage has definitely expanded over the past 10 years. This anatomical change makes me appear much heavier, and I hate that! This corset rocks! I look skinny again when I'm wearing it.
