It is helpful in releasing the symptoms that come with occasional or chronic inflammation. I started taking turmeric after my ankles began to pain me, with no real reason for the pain. After two weeks of Advil and the like, I found turmeric and noticed a difference right away. Within days my ankles were almost pain free and I was able to go back to my life. Turmeric was a game changer for me. I know take it every day to ensure that I do not suffer from inflammation agains.According to studies:Turmeric extract worked as well as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee in a study published in the August 2009 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.Laboratory studies suggest that curcumin acts as a weak phytoestrogen and seems to have cancer protective effects.Lab studies have also shown that curcumin induces programmed death of colon cancer cells, and clinical trials are investigating the use of curcumin in treatment of colon cancer.Curcumin may suppress microinflammation in the GI tract associated with inflammatory bowel disease.If any of the above it's ring true for you, you might consider adding turmeric to your daily regiment. It might just make your day a little better and help with the symptoms of inflammation. As always, you should consult your doctor before you start taking a new supplement.
