I spent an hour plus fully submerged in muddy milkshakey lake water getting bashed around with sticks and random crap. Then, once it was inside the garage, it started turning itself on and cycling through the settings... bright, low, flashing. It continued to do this despite attempts to dry the area around the button switch. I've disconnected it and am recharging it... maybe once it is dry again it will work normally. What follows is my original review (3-stars).............Got this yesterday and put it on my fixie. If you've been using these types of LED lights for a while, you know that the size of the batteries has been steadily getting smaller. My last light used an ~8v battery that lasted about 90 minutes on High. This one uses a ~4v battery that is twice the size and bulk. It lasts a claimed 5 hrs, but for commuters like me who ride less than 1/2 hour to or from work in the dark, charging the light at work and home is no big deal. This light doesn't actually come with a charger. There's a plethora (...of piñatas... sorry, couldn't resist!) of cables with various USB fittings... there's even one that splits off the cable coming from the battery itself. It's unclear if you can use this to charge the battery... it appears to be there to run the light off an accessory battery source(?). There's this small cigar shaped doohickey with a cable that attaches to the battery cable and has two different USB fittings to hook it up to your computer to charge it. It's not the most convenient set up. A simple plug in charger would be much more convenient. The included instructions do not include any insights into charging the unit. Instead, you are directed to their website (Google CycleBeam) for instructions for the Graphene, only to find there is no page at their website for the Graphene. When I first hooked up the battery to my computer out of the box, the cigar shaped doohickey was blinking green. When you unplugged the doohickey, it would turn into a solid green. They have another 700 lumen light on their website that says blinking green means the battery is 'mostly charged' and solid green means it is 'fully charged.' The light has been blinking green on the doohickey and my computer for 9+ hours now. So I'm not sure if it is 'mostly charged' or maybe it's on the verge of dying on the spot, since it never actually shows it is fully charged...if the instructions for charging are the same as for this other 700 lumen unit... since they don't actually provide instructions about charging this unit at all. The unit comes with stuff you have no idea why it is there... such as thread-like rubber O-rings... the light itself doesn't look like it disassembles... what do you use these for? :::shrugs shoulders:::The only thing I really like about this kit is the mount for the light itself. It is solid and well made. Lots of machined aluminum. It is even elegant... comes with two different hex keys... completely cancelled out by the ginormous 4v battery and tangled web of cables, but it is a real, tangible positive. The light isn't the brightest I've seen on High, but it is adequate. The pattern is a basic spot with enough peripheral light to illuminate a bike path in the dark fairly well. I'm just going to run this light all this week and keep an alternate light with me if it dies and see if I get 5 hours of charge out of it.
