It feels very secure when attached, I haven't had to supplement with any more clips or hairpins, and it was easy to cut into a more ragged, thinned fringe - it is a thick, heavy fringe as the pictures show. You need to attach it quite far back on your head, then you have 7" of fringe to style and cut if needed.
