I bought a 32 and they fit nicely. If I bought them again I would go with a 31, possibly (but questionably) maybe even a 30, so they would be tight. I use these pants for work and they have a flex/stretch to them which is nice. The button is metal and a nice perk is that I can slide the belt loop behind the leather tag. If I wanted to be really picky, I would prefer the zipper/crotch area to be shorter but the length of it is okay and it would not deter me from buying another pair. I would buy again but I would try a 31 next time.
