It was easy to get upstairs as it is rolled up tight. Two of us carried it upstairs. We put it on the bed frame and tore the plastic. It does advise against using a sharp object to open the bag. It is a really thick plastic but we were able to tear it. It Expands quickly. We waited 24 hours to sleep on it and it was great! It doesn't seem to hold heat. It is sitting halfway over a heat vent but I don't overheat at night with the heat blowing a bit towards the mattress. I really like this mattress. It is just a mattress. Very comfortable. **Q: What is the difference between 12 inch and 13 inch** A: We have the 12 inch and 13.5 zinus mattress. The 13.5 has a higher comfort level due to larger coils and padding. So the 12 inch is a bit firmer. **Q: Is this a firm mattress?** A: Yes, to me it is. Firmer than I really wanted. It is much better quality than our last mattress. My older body evidently needs more cushion. I chose this over the Saatva classic soft mattress because of the price. $374 vs $1700. My husband likes the firmness of this one. It does have really good edge support. **Q: Does this mattress need a box frame ?** A: No, I was surprised to discover that no box spring is needed as long as you have a platform bed/some type of metal frame that does not use slats. I’ve had he mattress since July 2023 so here’s my rating so far: 1. I purchased on sale and was really unsure of what I was going to get. 2. Mattress came vacuum sealed in box that I could manage on my own if I had to. 3. Make sure (if you purchase) to put it on the bed when you’re ready to unseal because it begins to expand as soon as the seal is released. 4. I was really surprised and impressed at the quality of this mattress. I was nervous b/c my previous mattress was over 18” and this was only 13”. It expanded the moment we began to release the seal. It said to allow 24 hours for full expansion and I did, but I do think I could have slept on it that night because it expanded very quickly. The mattress was soft to the touch and had just the right amount of firmness for sleeping (for me). I was hesitant about purchasing a mattress online as that’s not something I would normally do but I decided to try to see what happened and I was not disappointed. I have slept well, and the mattress (so far) seems to be holding up as well as a store bought mattress. I don’t sit on the edge of the bed that often so I can’t attest to if will sag or not. So far, I have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this mattress is and to its quality.
