Does this bag need to be hung or can it be left on** A: I prefer to feed my horses on the ground rather than hang a hay bag. I tie this bag short to the fence with the long rope so my gelding won't move it all over the paddock, strewing hay as he goes. A full bag holds between 2/3 and 3/4 bale, depending upon the bale size, and will last him 24+ hours. He's prone to ulcers so must have hay 24/7. I love these bags. I bought two when they first came out, and now I believe, they've come up with a way to close the open edges after you lace it up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more. **Q: I am looking for the original bag which has the rope to weave through the opening. I don’t have a pony so I am not sure. I hung it with 2 eye hooks at the top and secured it with one eye hook on the center bottom. I used caribeaners to attach to the eye hooks. This makes it really easy to fill with hay and keeps it about 8” off the floor. It has worked really well for my horse.
