Make sure belt is aligned and tight. If our inspection confirms the item is defective and is still under warranty, we will either repair or replace it for you. **Q: Which is best..this v shaped cutter head or the spiral type like the g0452z has?** A: The helical cutterheads have the carbide inserts mounted at a slight angle to the path of the workpiece. This produces a shearing action during the cut. The spiral cutterheads have the carbide inserts mounted perpendicular to the workpiece travel. Most customers seem to prefer the helical; however, any differences may be slight. The carbide insert cutterheads are quieter than the HSS knife cutterheads. The inserts with their four cutting edges can be rotated or replaced individually, if dull or damaged. Only the damaged inserts would need to be replaced instead of replacing all the knives, or at a minimum, offsetting the damaged knife. Between helical and cutterhead, it is very much a user preference. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great addition to workshop *by M***M on March 16, 2021* I looked long and hard for a used jointer but most of them were WELL used and it was hard to find a nice unit. The ones I did find were pretty expensive for a 5-10 year old unit so I decided to invest a few hundred more and get my own new machine. I did a lot of research before purchasing this particular jointer. The helical cutter head sold me. The delivery was easy and everything arrived intact. The hardest part was cleaning the preservative off the bed. After assembly I checked for squareness/level etc. and it was already set correctly. I've put @20 hours on it now and I wonder how I lived this long without it.
