Tip 1) cut the old existing tubing near where it inserts into the thermostat housing. It will be brittle. If it is leaking from the housing it is probably cracked where you can't see it. Gently try wiggling it out. When/if you get it out compare the old end to the new end to make sure the entire part came out. If half of it broke off inside the housing screw a sheet metal screw into it and pull it out. If that doesn't work use a dental type pick and an awl to get the piece out.
