The input is 10-34 volts DC via a XT60 connector. I use my bench power supply provide the input power, The input voltage must be higher than the battery or pack you are charging. Also for battery packs it has input for the balance leads to insure each cell in the pack is equalized. This is an excellent device but not for a novice unfamiliar with multi chemistry batteries you can charge. **Q: Will this safely charge an 8s lifepo4 battery without a bms on the battery?** A: Yes; To do it correctly you should connect balance leads to each cell. You also do have an option to override and charge without balance.(not ideal unless you know what you are doing and monitoring) **Q: i bought the q8 max new and recieved a used item so i returned it only to get sent another used item with a dirty and scratched screen. isdt???** A: Yes the screen is Dirty, but its the protective film that all electronics with screns come with. The little blue tab is supposed to peel it up, but it does not, you have to use your nails, or something else to pull it up. Then you can install the protector they supply. I thought the same thing. if it looks dirty scratched or "foggy" its the manufacturer "film" that most electronics with screens get on them.
