If you are doing some comparison shopping, I think this board can be offered at a lower-than-average price because of its basic trucks and ball bearings—they are a little lower quality than what you will find on a more expensive board. Also, this board is smaller than a name brand “small” board. I think—considering all aspects—this board is a decent starter board for a young person.This complete skateboard is built along the lines of a Penny Plastic. In fact, looking at the bottom of this board and the bottom of a Penny, they look the same—except for the Penny logos. But, while this board is 22” long, the deck is only 5 11/16” wide.So, even though this board will hold up to 176 pounds, the deck is actually sized for a young child. I see in the product description that the seller is claiming a deck width of 6”, and that is not the case with the board I received. Width is more important than length when you are deciding on a skateboard, so definitely consider and analyze how the user’s shoe will fit on this board.At 2 3/8” in diameter, the wheels are larger than normal. This allows for higher speeds but slower acceleration. The wheels are fairly soft, too. Soft is good for rough surfaces. All in all, the wheels on this board have a good grip and nice speed once you get going.Wheelbase is 11 inches.
