To keep them from sliding on our very slick granite countertops, I use a damp paper towel under them. That works extremely well, and I can later use that damp paper top to clean off the pad surface. The pads may grip other surfaces, and admittedly I had just resealed our granit counters...making them extremely slick. **Q: How thick are the cutting mats? german description says "unsere matten sind dick - 2mm!" but product dimensions says 0.1cm. thanks!** A: about 1mm,very thin.have cut through mine with large sharp knife.also they claimed non slip backs,but are just the same plastic,hard,with a pattern on and slip easily when cutting.would not recommend. **Q: What size are these?** A: They are 15in long and11 1/2 in wide. They are not very thick, you can bend them to put food into saucepans. But seem to work ok. Bit slippy as well. **Q: What kinde of plastic are they made of?** A: Not sure what type of plastic but they are very tough and hard wearing. We have had for quite a long time now and they are lasting really well. Light and durable and they do the job which at that price you really can’t fall off . Great to have more than one chopping board in a colour system too .
