I love that Birkenstock has resurfaced as fashionable footwear again!! I love my Mayari sandals since the patent leather makes them look slightly less casual than the suede/leather versions. I have the Gizeh on order in silver and see the trendiest ladies wearing them too. Get a funky color or the Patent Leather to jazz up your style. Metallic colors are super trendy!I have NEVER gotten blisters on my feet from Birkenstock shoes. The foot bed is amazing and after about 3-4 weeks of moderate to heavy wear, the foot bed molded to MY foot (as they are designed to do). The straps are overall, super comfortable, not once leaving a blister. The underside of the straps are soft and do not chafe anywhere on my toes of top of my foot. I wear my Mayari Sandals all the time, to and from work, sometimes during work (if my outfit allows) and when I run errands. Not sure I can face a harsh Upper Midwest winter without them but they are open. See my comments below for an alternative for winter months.General Birkenstock Review: I have worn Birkenstock shoes for 2 and a half decades! I wore the Arizona style back in the 90's and though they were out of style, I repurchased a pair to wear around the house. I have worn the Suede Clog style for about 4 years, mostly in the fall/winter and around the house. I am not the stereotypical "tree hugger" however, I value COMFORT over fashion when running around the house, so my Clogs are great for that. I will admit the clog style is kind of ugly. But I am on my feet at work for 7.5 hours a day so comfortable footwear when I get home is a must!

I have received lots of compliments on the black patent and people want to know where I bought them! Great fit, comfort and style for being on your feet all day!

I am a huge Birkenstock fan, especially the Mayari style. I was looking for a new pair as my newest pair broke in the toe area. So sad!I usually wear the narrow fit, but these were a good deal, so I ordered them. The photo showed a pair that looked like they had the black Birki-Flor straps, which is what I wanted. But when they arrived they were patent leather. ???I went back to look at the listing and it did read that they were patent leather, however the picture was the vegan Birki-Flor.I ended up returning them as I didn't want the patent leather, but they were a quality item. They fit nicely, as usual, and I'm sure they would be as comfortable as every other pair I own, I just didn't want the shine.They were the correct color I ordered (black), just a different material. At under $100, they were a great value.

I wear a 7-7.5 but they sent a 38 and it was too big. I returned it for a 37. The shoe is comfortable with good arch support.

I got an injury that had made most sandals unwearable. The second strap is adjustable so I can wear an ankle brace and feel like the shoe is not going to fall off, and the footbed offers good support. I have very low arches, so it has taken a little while to get used to the arch support - hurts if I stand in place for a long time.This is the most stylish supportive sandal I have been able to find. Most other sandals look too "mature," like I am about to go on a hike, or are flip flops, so for me, this is about as business casual as I am going to get...it is patent leather after all.

I ordered two pairs of Birkenstocks. One pair fits great this pair runs small! Ugh so frustrating!

My wife got these for work - she has a stand-up desk - great for the body, hard on shoes. She's found that the straps in back rub a bit when doing a lot of walking (like a day of shopping) but the shoes are perfect for their intended use: giving her good support at her stand-up desk.
