Albolene does what it says and keeps the moisture in the skin. I think it has an extra ingredient that actually helps. It was possible to wet her skin and then gently apply Albolene which seemed to successfully lift off the flakiness and protect the new skin underneath in the same way that it does with makeup. I had bought a pot while last in the US. I am a tattoo enthusiast and have used it very successfully during the healing process to relieve the itching and cracking that can occur in the first few days of a new tattoo to excellent effect. We went through the house and found about 11 personal care products that contained PG between the two of us. Albolene was on the safe list provided by my husband's chemical allergist. It is similar in consistency to petroleum jelly but lighter. It is great for removing makeup, but I use it on my face in the shower after removing my makeup. I put it all over my face and neck and then put the wash cloth over my face for a while. Very refreshing.
