The book is fairly thin, nice leatherette (imitation leather) cover, with even gold lettering, but, most of all, the typeface is large print, for the size of the Book, very easy to read, if your near vision isn't quite what it used to be, yet you can still get by, without glasses. It's lightweight, good for travel, but also good for anywhere. Being simply the New Testament and Psalms, it's not heavy or clumsy to hold, like a complete, large print Holy Bible can be to handle, to hold up in front of you, turn pages, etc. Granted, you won't get the scoop on Ezekiel's temple, but that which is most important? No problem! Would recommend this for people that, say, your old Oxford edition, with smaller type, has become of matter of holding "just so," that is, at a less flexible distance, to clearly read. Hopefully you can tell something from the picture attached, perhaps magnify it to get a "feel" for the typeface. There is nowhere in or on the Book that states what the font size is, but, for you fellow nerds, I looked it up online, found a website that states 12 pt. So, don't say I never did anything for you. Actually, it looks a little bigger than the 12 pt. on a computer screen at 100%, of this pdf font chart I have. In any event, again, very readable, to me enough of a find to have a home and travel copy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Large Print, KJ New Testament version and Psalms--everything you need for guidence and comfort *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2013* Compact, thin, easy to pack or carry. King James Version is priceless and more preferred if you "want it all", rather than the watered down subsequent translations like (NIV, RSV, ESV etc) have significantly changed scripture passages and words to less powerful meanings, even leaving significant verses out of the main text.!! (ie Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 6:13b, 23:14, Mark 11:26, Luke 1:28, Acts 8:37 and so on). I often wonder who the "scholars" were that came up the modern versions---so much is watered down. A major rape of scripture: 1 John 5:7-8 (a clear picture of the Trinity) in NKJV and KJV reads "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.", while in the NIV Bible, these verses have been reduced to " For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement." Yikes. Stick with NKJV and KJV Bibles if you want the whole Truth from God. A great book for more info and scriptures changed is "NEW AGE BIBLE VERSIONS" by Gail Riplinger. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Michael York has a wonderful reading voice for the Psalms... *by P***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2006* In my imagination, I think that the Psalms read by Michael York are read as if commissioned by King David. I can't say as if King David himself were reading the Psalms, for that isn't as accurate as the former, for the reading is clearly one spoken with eloquence fit for any hearer, even King David. High praise, are those remarks, and this collection of The Psalms are worth such praise.The style of the reading is clear, musical without musical background but punctuated by musical notes between readings. The imagination given by Michael York, and there is that high praise again for this reading of 150 Psalms, comes through for these are rich and moving readings that involve the listener. I have had a set of these tapes for many years, given one set as a gift only to discover that they are to be found only among the used category for sale. Sadly, there will be a time when the set may go out of print. This is my second set of this collection.As a note of comparison, there is a collection of readings of the King James Version of the Bible's New Testament read by Gregory Peck. Like Mr. Peck, Mr. York has a distinct voice that shows he is a noteworthy voice of merit and offers an understanding of what he is reading, without getting in the way of the words or the text. To say that he is a man with a trained voice and excellent diction, like Mr. Gregory Peck, is to my way of thinking and listening accurate.I have a number of "recorded" readings of Biblical material, including Gregory Peck, Sir Laurence Olivier, Alexander Scourby, and the out of print "The Bible" (the Old Testament in King James Version) read by numbers of actors with excellent voices. Michael York's reading of The Psalms is certainly a central part of my collection of such audio recordings, and his voice is as distinct and memorable as any, if not more so.
