Well lead crystal is sturdy and heavier however if you store your whiskey in it the lead will seep into whatever is stored in it which could change the taste and two increase your lead intake, which can be dangerous, however if your planning on using it for a wedding or party it should be fine, but when it's stores whiskey for weeks or longer is when the lead really gets in. For that primary reason I opted for a lead free option and this was one of the first decanters I saw, I thought the price was fair and it was a quality product so I purchased it. When it arrived it was in a spacious box with ample packaging around it to protect the decanter itself, the presentation box felt premium, having a smooth grippy feel. The decanter and stopper inside were individually wrapped up in paper and underneath them was a card that I almost missed, giving basic information on the product as well as a contact us card in case there were any problems. The decanter itself is sturdy and has a nice weight to it. I've taken a few pictures of the product to hopefully help with the review, my hands are also medium in size so the stopper feels comfortable to use. I'm very pleased with my purchase and knowing that it's lead free is a big plus so I don't have to worry if the flavor will be spoiled or worry over lead intake.
