Don't let my stars detour you.
Ok I want to clarify the questions that affected the star ratings don't do the stars justice. This is a GREAT package for the price. No need to spend any more if you're only looking to monitor your children. 1. Picture quality / 4 - No this is not an HD 4k blah blah camera, but it is GREAT quality for great value. You can see your children with no issues, although it is not "crystal clear" but it doesn't need to be. The night vision is awesome as well with no issues telling if your fussy children are playing around still. 2. Battery Life / 3 - The battery doesn't last SUPER long (haven't really timed it) but I try to leave it plugged in anyway, only removing it from the chord when I am on the go about the house. 3. Sheerness? - This shouldn't have been a rating question, should be replaced with quality, so that's what I rated it on Quality / 5. The cameras come with everything you need to mount them, the mounts are stable and have adjusting knobs so you can position it any which way. The monitor in no way feels cheap, and the features are awesome, with the bonus of night vision you also get a cute color changeable night light, and projecting stars (but keep in mind if you mount near the ceiling the projected stars aren't all they could be). If you plan on mounting on ceilings or near, keep in mind the chords aren't SUPER long, I had to mount mine about 1 foot off the ceiling) so they're probably about 6 foot chords. Be sure to get some cable covers if you're using for a toddlers bedroom. Now that my rating questions are out of the way, with a little extra details. Here's my experience and why I wanted these. I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. They play as kids do, and no fair to my little girl she can't quite talk yet, only being able to say a little bit. So my boy is ALWAYS "telling on her" or one of them gets a boo boo and only he can tell the story, like Mr. Teddy did it. So we decided to get this monitor set and put one in each of their room without telling them. During playtime we watched and discovered Little mister likes to throw things at the camera (which he got a timeout for and explained not to do that, since he's old enough to understand, but he may have not known what it was beforehand) and little missy likes climbing on her toybox and trying to fly (which she got corner time for and a big NO NO NO, since that's what works for her lol) Both kids are now aware of the cameras (its been like 3 weeks or so now) little missy loves the night light, music, and stars. Where as little mister is always cautious with what he does, never knowing if he is being watched or not. We don't always monitor them we let them be kids, but I'm telling you since purchasing this I have seen a big difference in how they play with each other and I'm glad we didn't wait any longer. We put a stop to ruff playing and dangerous actions before they developed any further. The piece of mind a simple camera can bring can change the way your child develops, and based on how you react can be for the better.

Amazing monitor!
We have only had this monitor for a couple of days, but so far we love it!! We tried it on a whim, because there were only a handful of reviews, being that it was a new product on Amazon. The few reviews it had were fantastic, so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad we did!! We had a Summer Infant monitor for our first daughter. She is almost 4, and it still works pretty well. It's basic, but good quality. We were hoping to find another one from that company for our youngest daughter, but we couldn't find one for our needs. We tried a Motorola one instead, and it was pure garbage! The sound constantly cuts out, the picture quality is poor, and the battery is horrible! It could charge all night, and then die as soon as we take it off the charger. Other times, it's fine. It's never consistent. Needless to say, it was a huge waste of (a lot!) of money, so we decided to search for a new monitor again. I've been doing research for a few months now, and nothing popped out at me. The reviews were always so mixed, and it didn't give me a lot of hope. I looked again last week, because I needed SOMETHING functional at this point, and stumbled upon this product. I am so, so glad I found it!! The picture is amazing, it's a large monitor so it's easy to see, the battery is really good on it, and the reception is awesome! We were able to get it to reach way further than the other monitors we have. It has all of the features I've been looking for, and then some! I can't say enough good things about it. It's still early, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint as time goes on. If you're struggling to make a choice in which monitor to purchase, I HIGHLY recommend this one!!

Love this so much, we bought 2!
We bought this on an Amazon sale after reading a lot of great reviews and it has not disappointed! We love the projector feature especially. Cry feature: As soon as any crying/noise is loud enough the screen will turn on so it catches your attention. Battery: I do feel like the battery dies quicker sometimes that others.. but we have the charger handy. No WIFI / Big screen: These were 2 specific things we were looking at in a monitor was a big screen to be able to actually see, and no WIFI connectivity. I have read way to many horror stories about people hacking into baby cameras so no thanks. We love that this does not have a WIFI feature! We actually bought 2 of these because our little loves the parent unit so much, it was thrown in the toilet.. and a day in a bag of rice couldn't save it. So we bought a whole new set and set it up.

Lots of features but annoying draw backs.
Lots of great features but missing something that my last monitor had - volume lights on the outside that light up when the baby cries. For example, If I’m in the shower and the baby is fussing I definitely can’t tell or hear it on this. My last monitor had lights on the side that lit up according to the noise in the room. So if I couldn’t hear the monitor I could still tell by the lights. It was very helpful. You have to hold the power button down for a good 6 seconds before it turns on or off. It feels like forever. My friends monitor (same model) does the same thing. The battery doesn’t last long before it needs to be plugged in. I have it plugged in most the time. Definitely have to have it plugged in overnight. If you have the music on you can’t hear the kid at all. Pros: nice picture, big screen. Night light and stars that light up the ceiling. My kids love those. My daughter loves the music even though I hate it lol. I love that all the lights and music are on timers though. So after a set amount of time they auto turn off. U can also set the lights to come on with noise in the room, but my kids would wake up and not go back to sleep. Lots of features, but ultimately I feel like it’s not going to last as long as my old monitor. My old monitor was like a old button phone. Not great but did its job well and lasted for about 2-3 years. We had the infant optics before and tried this to get more settings. It’s better in a lot of ways and not as good in a lot lol I guess the winner will be which monitor lasted longer. I’ve had this a few months now and I’ve noticed the buttons are less responsive already.

Monitor dead? Unplug the internal battery! UPDATE 3/27/2023
UPDATE The monitor is now fully dead. It will not remain on for more than 10 seconds, even with the battery unplugged. It's still within the manufacturer warranty, so we'll see if they're any help. We purchased an InfactOptics camera that was horrible, but then did get a HelloBaby one in the meantime, and do much prefer it anyway. ORIGINAL We’ve had this for a year and the battery seems to have been holding up well. It’s a good unit! Until, as many have said, the monitor just stops working. The cable was fine, and we tried a different one with the same results. I decided to power cycle it by opening it up and unplugging the battery for about 10 seconds. Plugged it back in, and it appears to be working again so I turned it off. When we needed it later, it won’t turn on again. So I did the same procedure but left it on this time. After 10 seconds it would freeze, then die. Last ditch effort: I unplugged the battery and left it unplugged. It hasn’t frozen since. The battery had a good charge, so I don’t believe it’s bad (registering 4-4.1v). We’ll see how long this lasts, now. All you need to do is remove the 3 screws on the back and pry the unit open. It’s going to take some convincing, just FYI. Once in, gently unplug the battery from the unit, and close it back up. You won’t have a battery, but at least it’ll function while plugged in.

Reliable Baby Monitor with Excellent Features
This VTech non WiFi baby monitor has been an amazing purchase for our family! The quality is excellent, and everything feels very durable and well made. The monitor and camera both feel sturdy enough for everyday use. I really love the adjustability with the pan, tilt, and zoom features because it makes it easy to see every corner of the room. The visibility is fantastic, even at night, thanks to the clear night vision and large 5" screen. The ease of use is another huge plus. Setup was quick, the controls are simple, and the battery life lasts a very long time. The temperature sensor and lullabies are also great extra features that we use often. For the price, this monitor offers incredible value for money. It has all the important features without needing WiFi, which gives extra peace of mind. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a dependable baby monitor!

Save your money
1) Issues after one year: Battery only last about 10 minutes. When I hit the volume up button, the camera moves up instead. 2) After a year and a half: Monitor wouldn’t turn on even when plugged into an outlet, I even tried multiple outlets to see if that was the issue. 3) Customer Service: Unwilling to help as the unit is over one year old. They said the monitor is intentionally designed for customers not to have the ability to change the battery. Based on all the negative reviews about the battery life, I’m glad to see Vtec intentionally designed it for customers to not be able to switch out a known defective part. 4) DYI battery change: Figured I had nothing to lose so I removed the cover to find the battery. Bad idea, the speaker cord connects to both side of the monitor with about 2 inches of clearance. As I pulled the two sides apart, the cord disconnected and is unable to reconnect. There is a battery that is easy to switch out, just be super carefully when removing the cover if you decide to go that route.

Highly recommend, so far :)
I want to start off by saying I’ve only had this camera for one day so take my review with a grain of salt, I will try to update my review later on when I’ve had it longer. So far, I love this baby monitor. The screen is large, it doesn’t feel “cheap” at all, it feels high quality and the features it has like the lullaby’s and star projector and nightlight feature is really cool. Those three things are additional features that I won’t be using since my son is old enough that it’ll probably distract him but cool to have. I love that it has a second camera, we will set that one up when we have a second baby and I love the fact that I can split the screen to view from both cameras or toggle between the two. I have not tested out this feature yet but I love the option. Very easy set up, I was able to take it right out of the box and use it, lots of great features that you can manage from the parent screen, big clear screen in the daytime and at night. My best friend is pregnant with her first and I will be recommending this monitor to her 100%. Cons: *please note, these cons are not dealbreakers for me* The sound seems to be a little “behind”. My sons room is across the hall and I can hear him in his room and on the monitor it seems to echo him if that makes sense. It bothers me a little bit but again, not a deal breaker. Still give it 5 stars. Another feature I wish it had (unless I’ve missed it) is I can’t put the screen to “sleep”, though I hated my last baby monitor (infant optics DXR-8) I did like the fact that I could turn off the screen at night with just the push of one button and yet I could still hear him. Please, if anyone knows if this monitor has that feature let me know :). I’m anxious to test out the battery life and the connection to see how far I can take the monitor as I sometimes will go outside during his naps or once he’s in bed. He’s also on the top flight of our tri level house. Again, I will try to update my review in a few months.

Baby monitor
Bought this during the Black Friday sales. Thought I had put in the correct details, but when it arrived it had a USA power outlet. After a lot of messing around I found an adaptor and the unit itself has the best picture quality and helps me relax when my grandchildren stay over.

Love it, minor flaw
Love the options and functionality it provides. Only flaw in monitor is that the lower volume button sometimes sets off the zoom feature (which is the button above). Annoying, but not worth the hassle to return/replace. Edit to add: battery life deteriorated significantly after 1 year of use.

Terrible
After a couple of weeks one camera stopped working. Contacted amazon us and vtech us and no one got back to me. Ended up with a refund. Don’t waste your time or money.

Not the greatest
I've had a couple things go wrong with this and it's not even a year old. The temperature gage sometimes quits working or reading and one time baby's room got insanely hot and I was unaware since it wasn't reading it. Then often the volume button doesn't work... it either will zoom in or flip to the other camera instead of adjusting the volume which I've learned to live with but a bit annoying

Update following a few weeks of use..
So after a few weeks of use I can say that this is an inferior product. Definitely not an upgrade on previous models. Some of the main reasons are....the usb charging socket has been replaced with a bespoke version which is limiting. The monitor really doesn't work well with two cameras and doesn't automatically switch to the camera detecting sound or motion. The range seems very poor compared to the previous version and the night vision is also worse now. We have since replaced ours with a no name Chinese product which is far better with regards to range, functionality and price. All the mains plugs are US not UK. The seller has added two converter plugs, but unfortunately you need three to use both cameras!
