Material, production, longevity, guarantee, etc.** A: I've had an IQ Air for a few years, from my own experience I think the only real difference is cost. This one has an all styrofoam 'border' but unless you run your unit on speed 4, 5, or 6 continually, that shouldn't be a problem.(Styrofoam is lighter than an all metal 'border' and a high air flow will tendto pull the styrofoam filter upward, which probably doesn't matter that much anyway).I don't really know about any guarantee, but, in my opinion, the quality and functionality seem fine to me. **Q: is this the after market version of the hyper hepa filter for IQ AIr?** A: Yes, it's designed to be compatible with IQ Air filters. **Q: Is this an oem from iqair? and if not where is it manufactured? china?** A: I'm not sure where it is manufactured, but it works fine. It isn't as heavy as others I havehad that had a metal-like frame, but as long as you don't run your iqair on setting 4 or moreit works fine. I have found if it is turned on number '4' or more it tends to want to lift thefilter and make a strange noise as it is lightweight and doesn't have the metal or plasticframe that others have in order to add weight. **Q: Does it have an odor** A: No. I didn't notice any odor. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The filter works great and save money. This Hepa filters is almost identical to the OEM version...I almost couldn't tell if there wasn't the sticker from IQAir - which, essentially cost me extra $80. I'm not not sure how someone could tell if it "stop working" after one week - And "clean smell" - are you kidding ? The clean smell is No Smell !! How could you tell ?? I'm an engineer, and I am familiar with the class 1000 or 10,000 clean room environment. I'd have to use particle counter machine to measure the amount of particles in the room - which I don't bother to do, because my allergy has gone away, no sneezing and eye watering. What bothering me is I noticed that the "clean room smell" review was the last one shown since last year...which means that the consumers actually believe in such subjective opinion without giving a good product a chance...this is how the marketeers manipulate the market...I spent good money for the high quality product, not fancy marketing manipulation - or some anal retentive person with merely subjective opinions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Better price, great quality! *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2016* We bought this filter because it was less expensive and so far, after a good month or more of use, it is working great and doing what it should be.
