They are bright enough for diaper changes and feedings. And the amber color is great for not bothering me while I sleep -- since I do have these plugged in and on all night. The adjustable brightness was useful for me to find my ideal light level -- though one issue was at the dimmest setting it was a bit picky as to either being fully off or slightly too bright; took some finagling to get it to go slightly dimmer instead of just turning off.
